This is a general referenceThis is a general reference for link and run. I really don't think it warrants an entry in the faq, they are poor answers and we have the tools to deal with them.

  • Down vote it as a poor answer, and leave a comment, this is the one I generally use

We really do prefer that answers have content, not pointers to content. This ensures that the answer will remain available even if the link goes dead. Whilst this may theoretically answer the question, it would be preferableit would be preferable to include the essential parts of the answer here, and provide the link for reference.

  • Flag it as not an answer.

I'm more than happy to downvote, leave a comment and delete after the OP has had an opportunity to rectify the situation. I'm sure other mods are too.
