There's an off-topic close reason built-in that should be used. If you want to provide the question asker more detail as to why it was closed then add a comment. But using the duplicate option just because you can link to another post is a mis-use of the close system. (If that's not what you were suggesting, then disregard, but you did say "I would prefer to close those questions as a duplicate".) | |
