I asked this [question on serverfault][1] some weeks ago and put a bounty of 50 rep on it (it got published with a bounty of 100 rep attached so I guess the system 'tops up' the bounty amount). When it came to the time for accepting an answer - I found that I couldn't i.e. I was not given the tick option at the side of the answers (as if I did not own the question). The best I could do was to upvote the answer which helped me the most - but that did not appear to present the user who answered my question with the 'prize reputation'.

Did I mess up somehow or is this a bug?
