Your question was asked indirectly, but it was there. An indirect question looks like this:

Where the "and how do I fix it" part is implicit. Which certain of our users don't see as a question. Adding an *explicit* question to the end:

Makes a world of difference. I've edited questions to add this seemingly obvious line (apparently it isn't) which has stopped downvote cascades.
