Abrupt change in moderation staff?
@Shog9 so the ban is permanent, even before any evidence contrary to what he said has been discovered? What do you believe he was doing?

@ShaneMadden I can see that, but why the permanent ban of (arguably) the most active moderator? The reason I ask is because he's the main user I see clearing the front page of low quality q/a so the rest of us don't have to.

@ShaneMadden I don't, I updated my comment shortly before your reply.

@ShaneMadden Hyppy's comment that was u/v'd seems to reflect the community's stance on those questions. Not just b/c they're old, but b/c of the quality of most of the 5 questions as well.

I agree, if there were questions that were wrongfully closed, we should know the quantity, and of course, links or it didn't happen.

I read the whole thing @Shog9, I know you have your reasons for doing what you did, and am not trying to flame, but I'm trying to understand your side, I'm just curious: Are you saying that he was wrong for closing the questions, or he was wrong for not explicitly creating a meta question about it?

@Shog9 ..yet to answer: why were you closing questions en masse with a canned comment that doesn't explain the closure. The response was ..I got tired of being notified by by people asking me to explain how their administration panel question was in one of those categories, so I made up a custom close reason. At first, just that first sentence, but people complained or wanted an explanation in notifications to me..

no one gave you a mandate to sweep the site clean of questions that you personally felt were tainted... I thought the community elected him moderator to do that though, among other things. 5 normal votes to close a question, or 1 mod vote @Shog9.

Is it time to kill problematic tags like cpanel, plesk, whm and webmin?
Heh, I was talking about this answer of yours here, but I have a feeling it would warrant a Yeah but he wasn't serious rash of comments :-)

What should Server Fault do with questions about web hosting control panels?
I find that close reason confusing fwiw. I'd like one that simply points people to How to ask a good question, ideally before they even try to ask a question. That page needs to be at the fore front, whether that user comes from the internet or from another SE site. Also, it's no secret [the quality of questions has been in decline](How to ask a good question). We often joke that we're becoming tech support for SO, and if we didn't try to hammer crap questions, that's exactly how it would be. Just take a look.

Why are learning materials questions off-topic?
questions being asked here in general, it's much easier to go to google and type in a question and search than it is to create an account here, post a question, wait for someone to spoon feed you an answer. We don't have to look too hard for examples of that. I do stand by my answer though in that most here don't shun n00bs, nobody shunned me, but then again I read the faq first, so maybe that's it.

Why are learning materials questions off-topic?
This was a very specific topic and if someone knew the answer off the top of their head (to be specific this was very new technology so very little was available on the 'net but I did my due diligence anyway) then we've done the internet a great service, as it wasn't readily searchable until then. However, no one offered an answer, but I didn't give up, eventually when I found the answer I posted it myself, thus contributing to the 'cause. Jim, I can't speak for everyone, but a lot of long-timers (I don't count myself in that group, but I feel the same way) on SF are tired of the low quality

@JimB you're assuming that googling something to that someone else knows the answer to already would typically take an hour, when that may or may not be true. Also, I've said nothing regarding beginners and researching first that isn't in the help documentation. I asked my first question on the network after searching through to the bowels on the internet (yes, for hours) and not finding anything relevant.

How does the community feel about deleting the April Fools' question?
+1 for the tag, by the time I tried to add it, Mike Hampton had already locked the question.

Yeah I can agree with this, I had a feeling it would get deleted but it was nice to have fun while it lasted. I didn't really care about the fake internet points, but I had some real fun with people online, and even irl as well. A friend of mine who is a sysadmin read the question on my phone and started freaking out, all b/c of the power of the upvotes.

Can ServerFault/StackExchange automatically "title" Microsoft Knowlege Base links?
+1, I wonder if this is used across the Big 3 sites enough to warrant this being posted on meta.SE.

@kasperd I think the real question is: Why aren't duplicate questions deleted in the first place?
