Abrupt change in moderation staff?
Why were the actions controversial? Controversial in terms of the user whose question is closed? Yes, these were indeed. But controversial in terms of the stated topicality of SF, I'm not seeing it.

@Shog9 Please. You now have permission. Can you enlighten us as to what this is about?

I, for one, greatly appreciate the work all the mods do. It's something I'd like to do, but don't have the time for. Seeing one lose mod status without explanation is quite upsetting.

@Shog9 Understood if someone wants to stop down. That's fine. In the other case, though, what gives? They were elected by the users, and if that person did something so egregious as to warrant forcible removal of their mod status, I would love to know what that thing was.

Suggestion: helping amateurs to get their way to SU / unix SE
@peterh How exactly do you differentiate between these "ridiculous" arguments and the "real" reasons? From what I can see, the "real" reasons are some nebulous thoughts that you have ginned up by yourself, that have no relation to what the community here actually wants and what SE has expressly stated in regards to migration.

@peterh You edited it by removing "Cheers" and changing "Putty" to "putty". Putty should have been left capitalized. I'm not sure you were making a significant change in its chances for migration. :)

@peterh You forget about this: DON'T MIGRATE CRAP.

@peterh OK, so they come via Google. They miss the first SF Banner I posted. They still have to read and agree that they'll take into consideration the tips on the "Ask a Question" page.

How to deal with people that don't accept your reasoning?
@peterh Quit holding your one, single vote over the OPs head. Just move on. You are making yourself look really bad. Just leave it be.

What can we do to fix the "Reasonable management practices" close reason?
@MichaelHampton I agree. But. In my experience, even when applying great effort to be understanding and gentle with our correction, it seems the vast majority of OPs we say "You're doing it wrong" to respond negatively. That's not to say that we ought not give answering those questions a good college try...
