There used to be a link from the SF [proper] FAQ to the MSO FAQ [which is where "they" really describe the functionality of the sites] but that seems to have been removed. Of course the MSF FAQ doesn't detail how SE sites work, but rather, how the SF community is supposed to work. Confused? I understand. Please try to bear with it for now, SF can be a lot of fun. Eventually, you'll come to know which mess belongs to which pile.

At time of writing, the SF Users listis 1,279 pages long ~ 46,000 usere. SO Users list is 11,300[!] pages ~ 406,800 users. SO has roughly 10x the volume on SF, I would expect to see similar ratios in "activity" levels as well.

Even if your account is deleted from all of SE, I don't see how the external sites would be affected. Lesson learned, don't post anything online you wouldn't want everyone you know to see.

Can a tag synonym exist before a tag is instantiated?

I think you could safely merge the two tags. There exist, already, the following architecture-specific tags: 64-bit, x64, 32bit-64bit, amd64, x86-64, 64bit, 32-bit and win32.
