Abrupt change in moderation staff?
@Shog9 I'am new on SF & I remarked the closure of cpanel topic by n00b, but I had seen talk about how it's offtopic, so I didnt cared. Yes, for a newbie I even remarked those talk. The fact that talk about noob came public like that is just an error. At job, do you talk to an employee in a meeting for an error he did, or alone with him ? You cut the mod status and you wait for the answer if you are in a hurry. You critic the unilateral's action of noob, but you did the same thing with this situation.

Some parting thoughts... and apologies for the drama
Just find that thread. Sorry to hear you quit, you were a truly good contributor & moderator. I'm a moderator on another platform, and there it seem to lack some support from the staff. For a new comer there for me, I seen a lot of animosity and aggressive state from the user, it's strange, kinda rude. A luck good user/mod are around, but again, it's sad to see you quit.

Comment statistics on ServerFault
@HopelessN00b Yeah, I noticed that for SE. They seem to think comments are only there to ask for more code. I think they try to live with comments, as they allow to upvote comment and they filter to display those comments first. It's why I proposed to only display the statistic. It's like the 'helpful flag' stat, it show users who help to moderate while 'helpful comment' would show who bring valuable content to the community without being answer.

And i add that the fact we dont reward comment, make the community need a question with a possible direct answer, thus lead to discution like it has there.

@user2284570 - then we cant told anything for not so good answer, by design. On SO a comment asking for more code help, but anyone can ask that, on SF, if I ask you to validate in ntdutil for all role if a alive server got them, it does not have the same impact as i lead the diag

For point #1, as a newcomer I wasnt able to comment on question as I was under 50 points. That lead to generic answer when the question was unclear to try to gain point to reach the 50 points. That does not help the quality.

I agree, and this is like a war on who did help the more. The way it work, there is no team work at all. No one got all answers, but you can direct the user to the good diag, but other step in to tell you are dumb, or such. Only 6 days I'am participing, and I even seen a OP that edit is question, but my answer then was no longer the best, so I was getting back feedback.. thats stupid. For SF comment should give rep, on SO it's maybe another story, but there you can't write a best answer without diag, and you just hope no other answer while you diag..

I'am a new contributor, but honnestly what is laking is a small reputation point on comments, why? it's hard to isolate a server problem. You diagnostic with the user, and someone else get the answer at the end. So, next question, you skip diagnostic step. It lead to poor/guess "Answer" that will be downvoted if it's not ok. It's easy to see as moderator do more diagnostic as they care less for the points than newcomer. All that bring down the quality level IMO.
