I'm sure I had an account before, but it probably did get mixed up with Google's OpenID being dumb. (That's given me a lot of trouble.) How can I get that sorted? - Anyway, of course I could go voting and commenting to farm rep, but that just seems like cheating the system - and hard to get it by asking a question when it's making it difficult to ask the question I came for.
