Moderator deleted my comment on his answer and wrongfully accused me of insult
What precisely are you wanting to happen from this? It's difficult to tell from your post. What do you think is a proportional response to Michael saying he found your comment offensive and deleting it?

Moderator deleted my comment on his answer and wrongfully accused me of insult
Does a single comment and comment deletion render a moderator unfit for his role, or should there be more to it than that?

What's the best close reason for impossible troubleshooting questions?
P.S. I didn't manually boot 2000 lab computers into safe mode to apply a patch. I added the horrible BSOD-inducing driver and its patch in the lab's already thick image and reimaged the lab.

I'm actually the person who upvoted the since-deleted answer. I appreciate that he was backing up Sven. That doesn't make me less exasperated with the comment thread that followed. (As for whether the comment/answer is an answer or not, I think the OP should repost it as one, expanding it as suggested here to make sure we all realize it's an answer, and have done with it.)

Some of the comments on the deleted answer (like Shog's above) make me want to turn this Internet right around.

Should downvotes be moderated?
P.S. I agree with Sven, too, that if you think the person who downvoted was too harsh, you can upvote the question. It'll be a net win for the OP, rep-wise.

@Alex Answers with more upvotes have a community consensus that they're useful. That's more than the opinion of just one person.
