Remove "Professional" close-reason
What @MichaelHampton said, especially since we haven't really, truly, officially decided to change scope, right? (FWIW, I may be "Team Nice" but I like our scope the way it is.)

2014 Moderator Election Q&A - Question Collection
@Shog9 Your link makes me want to shout out who are really the nicest people on the site. (Which are, obviously, the people who have been nicest to me personally.) ;) I'm not sure the Mod Election Q&A is the best place, though.

@Sirex, I clicked through to your profile and you shouldn't be afraid of the answer button. :)

2014 Moderator Election Q&A - Question Collection
Yikes, no, not my intent. I consider myself, for lack of a better term, "Team Nice," and think my meta history backs that up. That said, I resented an outsider taking what I saw as cheap shots at a mod candidate. HopelessN00b may be a snarky #*(@&, but he's our snarky #*(@&. Lastly, I personally think that the emphasis on "scaring off" the clueless is misplaced and frightens the competent more than the clueless. Hence, the "Do you think the two questions are related?"

@ChrisS Fair enough. That wasn't really the intent; I was trying to phrase the question in a neutral way despite having a strong opinion. And I totally agree that the nomination speeches have generated too much heat (in both speeches and comments) already.

Rewriting "minimal understanding"
P.S. Because I've never liked the current version: Thank you.

@Shog9 Answering questions in comments: I've done this, but usually when it's a link-only answer that I don't think deserves an upvote. The one I did today was someone who wanted to upgrade software on Ubuntu to a version unsupported by his distro. Someone told him to upgrade his version of Ubuntu. He asked how. I linked to AskUbuntu on how to upgrade. That's not a "real" answer--it's a comment with a link--but he clearly needed the help.

Rewriting "minimal understanding"
I like it a lot better than the current version, which has always sounded to me like, "You're not smart enough to understand what you're asking." It's also more likely to get more details from people whose questions lack sufficient information, and is also a better description of the problem.

Why is the Server Fault community so unfriendly?
What Andrew and HopelessN00b said. I've found that comments to improve questions are not always well received. People who reply with defensive, hostile, or angry comments in reply to constructive criticism discourage future constructive criticism.
