Any reason not to display my full name in profile?
@NeilAnuskiewicz Using your real name doesn't matter so much if there's many or hundreds or thousands or 10's of thousands of people with the same name as you. How about you? I got screwed in that regard.

So you can be a jerk to other users and not look bad :)

OK, so I just edited my on-hold question
@user1071914 I have to agree, it really doesn't sound like you're administering a server or network equipment or anything like that. Funny though, I see similar questions to yours get answered sometimes without a fuss. Like "Help, my hosted DNS is all screwy and so on..." or "I want to use some AWS service I don't understand, please explain xxx...". At least you got your question answered here in Meta.

Another "why is this off-topic?" AWITOT? :-p
Are there any UI's...? Could in some cases be answered with:
Yes, it comes with one if you download the source distribution and look under the contrib directory. It's not packaged in the binary distribution.
. Or Yes, but just the CLI. They intentionally didn't implement a GUI or anything due to issue xxx, see doc xxx explaining the reasoning. Oh, you didn't know there was a CLI? It's used like so:... or documented here...

@lain This
This How about polite and nice while being direct (and firm I think sometimes)? Is that still too difficult? suggests to me that you feel you have made the case for not nice/polite
suggests to me that you'd rather argue with me, than discuss this issue as a community.

@HopelessN00b Maybe a family issue :) JK

@HopelessN00b I really don't need to make a case. This is just a discussion. This is an absolutely subjective issue. Perhaps, as I said in my post it's a cultural difference. Care to call me a crazy Canadian yet? Or maybe it's Ontario? Or Ottawa? Maybe my family? I personally think that statement is rude and wouldn't say that to a customer or co-worker... perhaps jokingly to a friend. I'd try hard to refrain from saying that to someone online and if I did, I'd feel I'd been impolite. I could get fired if my boss overheard me say something like that under the right circumstances.

"Lets all be polite and professional, what do you think?" -> DOWN VOTE, COMPLAIN, ARGUE, ATTACK. This has been a very interesting discussion... Enlightening in fact. Thank you everyone!

@lain A few people have openly admitted to having little respect for the stuff on the "Be Nice" page. I could quote... but you can read. You saw the comment about the waste of skin, and LART, the use of foul language, etc... if you think these are all kind and polite things, so be it. But that's your opinion is not shared by everyone, even in this discussion.

@lain No it's not at odds, I agree. You can do both at the same time. You can be polite and nice and considerate and direct and even firm and other things all at the same time. I call it being professional and a kind person. It's how I am with my son as a father as well, even when he's difficult to deal with (like a user?).

direct != rude, direct != nice... ye, we all know that. How about polite and nice while being direct (and firm I think sometimes)? Is that still too difficult?
