Integrate cloudshark's service
I have shared wireshark screenshots multiple times in questions asking for help, or demonstrating an issue. I think this would be very cool, but I do wonder if that many people will use it

Cool; I might have over simplified it then. I haven't dug into the source code to see what all the branches/functionality is

@Iain - kind of. This is heaps more in your face though. Make them actually dismiss the dialog if they want to bypass it. Although they already bypass the "how to ask" without reading it so.... hmm

"Are you at home/work" and work leads to "Do you have an active root privs on any machine connected to your problem, yes/no" with "no" leading to a FOAD link?

Why are moderators/high rep users focused on narrowing the scope of SF?
@ChrisS - I do not see any trolling going on. I think that JamesRyan is being pretty calm and collected, which is more than I can say for other times this conversation has been had

And also, people who are green, new users are perhaps the only people qualified to judge the community as they come in with fresh eyes. Us old timers cannot judge what the site is like for new users, because we are not new users

Why SF is failing - the dismal future of ServerFault
@MDMarra except as I've said in the past, reputation is very poor indication of how much a user knows about the site or the community. The only thing that reputation measures is how much other people liked their answers. That's it. Someone could have lurked for 4 months, doing maintenance, voting, etc, and their reputation would show virtually nothing, but they would know the community better than someone who dropped by once and scored a +50 on a popular easy question.

@MDMarra - did you read the first sentence?
Why am I responding by posting a new question? ... I can't respond directly to the meta question because I don't have enough reputation.

Was anyone else's security appliance blocking SF today?
I didn't have this yesterday, but I had it about a year ago

Questions to ask the SE staff regarding the future of ServerFault
I am reinstating this post and clearing the comments. Just because you don't like what someone has said or disagree with them is not a reason to delete their post. Leave it downvoted if you disagree, but deleting it only re-inforces the attitude that TheLQ believes the site has

Creating a canonical "Help, I'm Getting DDOS-ed!" question?
Have you seen our favourite canonical on Licensing? Basically the answer is "Go ask somewhere else", and it gives a convenient place to point all the questions to so that we don't just dump them out in the cold

Creating a canonical "Help, I'm Getting DDOS-ed!" question?
@NathanC - I think the answer to the question would be a "Don't ask here - contact your upstream provider. If you are the upstream provider, then wtf are you doing asking here" sort of thing

This question appears to be off-topic because it is about <end>
@svw - I don't have a problem with it slowing people down. Forces you to think about what you're doing rather than slinging indescriminantly, and gives the OP a much greater chance of identifying the problem and fixing it next time.
