Should "on topic" be narrowed down on SF?
This is pretty much the problem which I tried to describe. I can narrow it down with tags. But then I will miss interesting questions and answers that are not in my favourite tags. So my idea was to redirect more traffic to other sites.

@MadBoy My recommendation would have been squid.

How do high-reputation SF users solve their own problems?
I found that people are pretty good in hiding what they actually do (at UL and SF). But then you can ask anyway - you do not have to provide the secret details. This sometimes leads to extremes, where you have to ask why a certain question is being asked at all.

How to get rid of a synomym
I like the blackhole - idea. So if sysadmin1138 likes it, too - please go for it.

Userbase has gone up, but participation in the election has gone down?
Interesting approach. Are there any numbers about that?

Virtualbox is losing the benefit of the doubt
Have you got some examples of those flagged questions? I agree with John - VBox is a tool for sysadmins. So answers about VBox might help in a server context, too. It`s not much of a difference if I have a Ubuntu guest because I want a Linux client or if I have a CentOS guest because I simulate the PXE boot setup for servers...

How to get rid of a synomym
I outlined one (imho important) example in the tag description for sles10: On SLES10 XEN works without problems (even running a W2K server there was no problem) while with OpenSuSE in the same constellation there were crashes even with Linux DomUs. Although both systems feature yast2 then menus and background scripts for networking and firewalling are quite different. I tried to run a few commercial apps that had a SLES clearance on OpenSuSE - crashes, missing libraries and so on. After going to SLES - no problems any more.
