Should licencing questions really be closed even when it is massive vendor with standard practices worldwide?
With regards to your addendum - my argument isn't that we WILL be help responsible, it's that licensing questions are legal questions by their very nature. As such, they are inherently complex, open to interpretation and the only way to ensure you're the right side of it so to deal directly with the vendor or an authorized third party. Technical advice is nothing like legal advice.

@JamesRyan That's a very flawed argument. Firstly, I doubt it. Secondly, technical advice is fairly easy to test and evaluate. Legal questions are not.

Chat is not a place for live support, but what is live support?
@MDMarra I've said this before, but while we have to maintain our status as a site for pro admins we really need to be way more forgiving with people who lack experience. We weren't born with 10 years of infrastructure experience, and neither are they!

Do we need a 2013 Election?
Agreed - this isn't an issue I've noticed at all.

Proposed new language for FAQ
@martin's I have a question for you: Why do you care so much about a community that quite clearly isn't aligned to what you want? There's nothing wrong with not liking somewhere, but I find it very peculiar how you're so desperate to go up against those who do find it a good fit for them. If you were to enter a bar that you felt unwelcoming, would you begin a campaign to change it or would you simply move on to somewhere more fitting.

@martin's Tags can be created and the price we pay for being, fundamentally, a community built site is that sometimes people in the community will do things wrong. It's all but impossible to stay on top of this, and deleting tags won't cure the issue. To be honest, I don't think it's that hard to understand what's on and off topic. There will always be gray areas, and sadly, there will also be people who simply refuse to listen to what they're being told by more experienced people.

@martin's Because that's not how the SE platform works. We didn't develop it - take that complaint over to mSO if you feel it's a big issue.

Question closed, but it was a complete question that could be answered
@kelton52 That's a silly analogy, and yes, I can work on cars too. See voretaq7's response for a start. We'd also need to know what engine you intend to put in, what equipment you have available and if you're competent enough to handle it. But, more to the point, they'd probably ask "why?", too. Because why replace an engine when it just needs a new alternator?Though, if you'd like proof, why not walk into your local shop and repeat your "How do you replace the engine of a vehicle" question. You can tell them they're clueless. Record the response for future reference.

Yes, I struggle with this too and often miss links unless they're obvious.
