I've sliced it down from 10.6k to... the 9.8k it's at now in less than a week, so it'll be gone or reduced to a smaller collection of no-valid-tag, but historically-significant questions in... well, a few months or so, given current rates.

@Jeff you asked for an explanation of when people are allowed to close (on hold) a question, so that's what I answered. When it's "fair" to close a question is an entirely different, and largely irrelevant question. Like everything else in life, people are rarely fair, so it's a theoretical discussion at best.

Edit it so it's not asking "what's best," but "what do I need to consider"/"how do I pick."

Believe it or not, moderators don't just click buttons randomly. Stop stifling my moderation style, dammit.

Since it's such a big deal to you, I have changed the close reason on that question. It is now closed for being unclear what you're asking. My advice about fixing your questions so other people can understand what you're asking about still stands. This probably would be a better use of your time than, for example, antagonizing the moderators by flagging their comments as rude or offensive.

@acidzombie24 Well, as I said, improve one or both of your questions so it's more clear what you're asking. This might require some independent learning on your part... you seem to be fundamentally confused about some of the concepts you're asking about.
