Question about "Amazon API gateway" put on hold at Server Fault
As I mentioned your question doesn't show what research you did, instead it gives me the impression that you didn't invest any effort yet (but expect our community to do).

Question about "Amazon API gateway" put on hold at Server Fault
We are a site for professionals managing information technology systems in a business environment and as such we have certain professional expectations when people ask a question here, and one of those expectations is that you will have done some research, found and read the vendor documentation and/or tried a solution before asking the internet for help. Only then can you write that great question that we can help you answer. - Your question doesn't show any of that and would have been closed by me for that reason alone, regardless.

Posting question and answer for information purposes
In general self answering and thereby contributing to the public knowledge is encouraged. - Although the above scenario sounds more like the kind of issues you would only face in lab environments and not so much in production environments and therefore not quite topical, but I can be mistaken for I'm more an open Source guy

Why was this question flagged as off-topic?
The diamond ♦ behind a username indicates that a community moderator, in this case Sven, put your question on hold as off-topic.
-|-
There are a limited number of default closure reasons both regular users and moderators can select when they encounter a question that is not on topic. By necessity such default closure reasons are quite broad. -|-
IMHO Frequently port forwarding issues imply that a question is not about managing information technology systems in a business environment.

The highest rated question on this SE is a rant/opinion about an idiot; what does that tell me about asking good questions here?
Who cares about the most popular question anyway? What you really should be worried about is getting the most usefull and best possible Answer to your current Question. If you're looking for good answers to common questions take a look at Canonical Q&A's

Have we given up on the review queue?
^^^ Same here. Part is that I started working at new job and have less time, part that the review queue is intended to be the community process and not everything needs the mod hammer.

Can't post a comment unless you have 50 points?
New users can indeed only post questions and answers and no comments until they reach a certain minimum privilege level and commenting everywhere requires > 50 points. That is by design. By the way: you can always comment on your own questions and answers.

Can I ask for advice on a problem with a server if the OS I'm trying to install is not on the support matrix?
Yes, or another supported Linux distribution and KVM if you don't want to buy a commercial license

The fact that the OS is unsupported does not automatically make your question off topic IMHO. Although we are not HP support and are therefor not a priori limited in which OS we have experience with, there are many good reasons to stick with enterprise operating systems and especially if you have hardware/driver issues we might still end up making a similar recommendation: that is to run your unsupported OS in a hypervisor that is supported.

You can alway comment on your own questions and answers, anonymous users as well, for as long as the cookie associating them with their posts remains valid, IIRC
