Sick of "unprofessional" questions
Good points. I guess I'm just sick of seeing the same few basic questions float around time and time again, but they do provide a great level of entry for newbies.

mod_rewrite/htaccess/etc. questions - migrate?
@ErikA - you're a member of the community at large, so I think you've got every right. The people on webmasters mostly come from Stack Overflow, so they don't have the same insights into server fault as we do. They need to know our opinion. As a mod I need to be a bit careful about expressing my opinion lest it be perceived that I'm "laying down the law"

The question is, are these kinds of questions going to be useful to a professional sysadmin later on?

why was my question about mac mini servers closed?
@pale - you'll notice that that question was answered by the same person who asked it. Also, it might have just slipped through the cracks as the clsoe votes do fall off after a while. I agree with Zypher on this one.

Posting questions on ServerFault seems not to work in Opera
Opera Mini, or Opera Mobile, or Opera "normal"? There are a lot of known issues with Opera Mini which the Stack Exchange team won't/can't fix because of its unique rendering method.

Possible sockpuppet account?
I agree with your sentiments, but asking googlable questions is still encouraged, because when everyone else googles for them, we want them to find US, not Expert Sexchange (as so many of my search results end up with)

Noone said that the message had to end being sent to any of the users... although maybe that's the point?

Not bad. Maybe it can print the optional text in binary lights?
